The Variety Show
The Great Show
I was walking down the road getting more nervous every second I got closer…
Last night, on Monday 9 August I was walking down the street with my Mum and Dad going to the variety show. I saw Connor getting out of the car with his parents.
At Nayland College we went into a room with other people from my
class. We played for a while then we went to the staffroom.
After that we went to the staffroom. Finally the time came and we went on stage and sat down and the curtains opened…
We started singing ‘Wings of Your Dreams’ then we sang ‘Here Comes The Sun’. After Room 7 performed their show.
Then we did ours. It was so hot in the black rubbish bags. The glow worms danced their dance then the trees danced. When the trees were still the birds flew through the trees and Tom who was Tane put up the sun. I was so nervous.
After that Room 6 then Room 8 and then it was over. The curtains closed and we went back to the room. My Dad picked me up. I walked back down the road to my house and went to bed.

Whare Takiwa
Whare Takiwa
The Whare Takiwa is in the backfield of Nayland Primary. It was built two months ago in a competition.
The ecohut is a two story building. The bottom platform is half underground. You can see worms in the dirt boxes. It is hard to see worms in the dirt boxes through the persplex.
To get to the top half of the ecohut you go up a ladder onto the top of the underground hut, then across the bridge and you are there. To get down you go down the fireman’s pole and land on a tyre or you can go back the way you came.
It is not very big but not really small. It is about medium size. Even though it’s not very big, it’s fun! The huts are about the same size.
The chooks coop is under the top hut. The chickens are called Isobelle, Darryl and Janice. They are named after the principals.
The ecohut is awesome!
